Winning from the change
In road mobility, environmental transitions open a new cycle of investment and development as technologies are now mature and deployable. Highway corridors offer substantial solar and electrification capacity. The transition expands both the scope and the value of our operations. Committed to this transformation, we deploy VINCI Concessions environmental ambition across our network.
Solar as a competitive advantage
We deploy solar production across our highways to power our own operations, strengthening economic competitiveness and energy autonomy while decarbonizing electricity use.

Europe
One of Europe’s largest highway solar plants commissioned on Olympia Odos in Greece.

North America
75% of electricity needs covered by on-site solar production on Northwest Parkway

Latin America
Pioneering solar programmes on Via Sumapaz and Lima Expresa, accelerating the transition.
Electrifying highway services
We roll out EV charging across our networks to support long-distance electric travel. In parallel, we electrify our own fleets, from patrol cars to maintenance vehicles and heavy equipment, including tow trucks, with the first electric recovery trucks now operating in Brazil. By anticipating demand, electrification strengthens service quality and unlocks new mobility value.
At VINCI Highways, environmental transition drives business performance.
Optimizing resource use
We reduce water consumption through measurable programmes, achieving up to 6% savings last year. We reuse wastewater for irrigation and wildfire prevention, limiting external supply needs. At Olympia Odos, atmospheric water generators in rest areas also enhance customer experience, turning resource innovation into a visible sign of our environmental commitment.
Protecting biodiversity with practical actions
We protect species and restore habitats, like in Colombia with our Viva el Frailejón initiative or through our global Wild Meadows programme that manages roadside vegetation without pesticides, using local plants to support pollinators. First launched in Slovakia, scaled up in the Czech Republic and now rolling out in the US, it proves how simple operational choices deliver measurable biodiversity gains.
WILDLIFE
Highways that integrate into their environment
Wildlife moves through and alongside our corridors. We map species presence, design ecological crossings and ensure continuity of habitats. During construction and maintenance works, specific measures are deployed to protect fauna and preserve biodiversity.
